Micromanaged environment so you're just a number

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

PTO, Bonuses (if you can reach the high goals to get them), Benefits

    Cons

You're just a number when you work in retail banking. Your day consists of squeezing sales out of every customer regardless if they need the product or not. You are taught to drink the "corporate" kool-aid. This means if you express dissatisfaction with your environment, you are viewed as negative instead of opinionated. Expressing yourself typically ends on deaf ears. This is typical in company of this size.

Your manager's manager's manager drives ridiculous sales goals down your throat on a regular basis.

The turnover is so high in this position that it's not even funny. Talk to former WF employees and you'll hear some of the same. The robots that still work here don't know anything outside of WF jargon that doesn't even make sense.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There's a difference in finding a customer's financial need and shoving unecessary products towards a customer just simply because they are qualified. Every customer does not need a credit card. NO, every customer doesn't need a credit line. NO, every cusomter doesn't want to put a lien on their house in order to have "emergency funds". Get rid of all of these ridiculous reports and return to traditional banking. Your customers do NOT trust all of these new bankers you keep hiring who turn around and quit because the sales pressure is too high. This is supposed to be banking not car sales.

    Pros

They are a great company to work for. Great benefits and good salary. I stayed there for several years and was happy.

    Cons

My department didn't have a healthy work/life balance due to the nature of my business. Late night shifts and rotating weekends.
