I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great pay, especially considering lack of experience upon entering company. Many opportunities for bonuses and advancement. Loan processing is a pretty simple job when the workload is average. So many other perks depending on how fun your manager is such as many free meals from good restaurants, company outings (that are much more fun than it sounds), free products from Wells Fargo and affiliates every once in a while, access to company sponsored events, numerous discounts from programs offered by other companies like best buy, target, apple, IBM, etc. the list goes on.

    Cons

Policy changes are massive and often. Decisions are made so far above your manager's head by people that have no connection to your actual job duties, so that when these changes inevitably complicate your job further, there's no point in discussing them. You just have to roll with the punches. Also, while decisions for promotion and bonuses are usually made by your manager or his/her manager, decisions for layoffs are made at that same ethereal level where even the person that basically runs the entire building you work in has no say. When your time is up, it's simply up. Also there's not a whole lot of job security in the mortgage department but that's hardly their fault.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make decisions for layoffs based on performance, not seniority. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time

    Pros

Overall, a solid place to work. I had the pleasure to work with a variety of talented people from across the company. Given the size and scope of the company, there are multiple areas to explore as you advance your career.

    Cons

It is a VERY large place and decisions take a long time. If you are looking for autonomy, this is not the place for you. While the scope of the company offers opportunities for advancement, it is a very silo driven organization so skill in one area may not be appreciated elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get away from the mission statement and have an actual mission. The company has the size and scale to be truly impressive, yet settling for average seems to be the focus.
