Current Employee - Phone Banker I in Salem, OR

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for less than a year

Pros

-Flexible hours
-Get to put WF on your resume
-Casual dress code
-No physical labor

Cons

-High sales goals
-Rude "not so smart" customers
-Extensive time on the computer (bad for the eyes)
-Salary does not compensate the level of work

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Good enough to pay the bills, however the compensation is very low considering the amount of work we have to put in. On a average day I service 90-120 different accounts, and I make $118 per day before tax... that's less than a $1 per account after tax. It's mentally exhausting when you get back to back calls with customers who overdrew their account and then blames you (personally) as if your the one that spent their money.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This company is employee oriented. They know if there employees are happy the customer will be also.

    Cons

It doesn't matter your management experience you have to start as a banker. I do like the fact that they promote management within the company.

A busy environment with potential to grow, but some managers are not great leaders and usually get there based on sales

I have been working at Wells Fargo part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits, and this is a Team culture, if you are a people person then this is a great choice for you.

    Cons

Many managers are promoted due to high sales and are not ready for the leadership responsibilities associated with the manager role.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your team and be very transparent; also actually care for your team and take advantage of great Lead Tellers, they are your lifeline to the teller team.
