I have been working at Wells Fargo part-time

Pros

Job security is good as long as you meet their sales goals. There is opportunity to grow for hard working people. Also, co-workers and supervisors are for most part nice and helpful.

Cons

Salary and incentive compensation are ridiculously low for their expectations. Very high sales goals and pressure from management to achieve them. It can be very challanging at times.

    Pros

    salary is not so bad.

    Cons

The goals assigned to the bankers are ridiculous. You get forced to open accounts for family and friends to meet your goals. You might get asked to beg people for accounts. Even if you are close to you goal you get harassed multiple times per day and micromanaged.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You can leverage the brand and big name to help drive business. Everyone has heard of them so obtaining consumer trust is easier.

    Cons

You're just a number. No one in the company cares at all about you. They will always promote the best producer and rarely the best leader so management is absolutely horrible. Heavy corporate politics creates a very individualistic culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Require leadership training, testing, or experience prior to promoting managers. The worst manager is always the best producer. This is especially evident in the senior management positions (Area Managers and Regional Managers). Management and Leadership are linked due to the position, but are distinctly different in their capacity and effectiveness. Great leadership will always trump an excellent manager!
