I worked at Wells Fargo

Pros

WFHM had a very structured system in place for every aspect of the CSR role. The reps are expected to be on their phones for the duration of the workday with the exception of scheduled breaks, lunch, team meetings or coaching sessions. There are sales goals that have to be met as a part of the job requirements. It can become mundane.

Cons

The sales quotas can be hard to meet when the products offered are not applicable to the borrowers that are targeted for the product.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Eliminate the sales goals as a part of the CSR role.

I have been working at Wells Fargo

    Pros

Wells Fargo has a strong credit and sales culture. Risk management has been a focus of management and kept Wells strong through out the credit crisis. Wells additionally has strong sales managers. Employees have the opportunity to improve their careers through several training courses offered.

    Cons

The extreme sales focus on the retail side of the bank seems to cause issues of turnover, inconsistent customer service, and unrealistic goals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The retail side needs to tone back the sales pressure and improve customer service. Aggressively pushing loans in a time where credit rarely gets approved is counter productive.

I have been working at Wells Fargo

    Pros

Great place to work. Bonuses offered for making sales goals. Lots of opportunity for continuing education and upward mobility. Tuition reimbursement is a major plus.

    Cons

Sales. Being forced to shove sales down customers throats that just want to get in and out of the bank as fast as possible,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work. Take it easy with the sales. Don't force sales so much. It annoys customers and has the potential to drive them away.
