Former Employee - Cashier/Crew in Plano, TX

I worked at Wendy's full-time (less than a year)

Pros

The repeat customers, the crew, and the experience.

Cons

(First establishment i worked at) the afternoon rush for lunch was crazy busy in the drive-thru and inside, running out of supplies sometimes
(the second establishment i worked at) nothing really besides the afternoon rush and a manager that treated me rudely and treated everyone else nicely, oh yeah and no breaks for me only the managers and the sandwich makers, griller, fryer

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure they give everyone an even break, make sure all the managers are treating everyone with the same respect

    I worked at Wendy's full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    You meet nice people.
The compensation is not bad for being located in the mountains. Apparently you make a lot less in a big city.

    Cons

    You smell like fast food.
The training program involves watching a video then 2 weeks later being thrown into that position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop a better training program. I was hired as Assistant Manager but treated like a part-time worker.

Former Employee - Restaurant Manager in Mason, OH

    I worked at Wendy's full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, typically promotes from within, the culture of Wendy's is a good one but managers really slack on their job of incorporating it into everyday workdays through Huddles, etc., management meetings twice a year to help update all managers in area, each store is suppose to have weekly or bi-weekly manager meetings, good work is typically recognized

    Cons

Schedule, Operating hours, High standards to fulfill and not enough resources to fulfill them, demanding work, stressful, double standards, PAY, lack of upper management aid, extremely high turnover with crew and managers, the company wants to cut stores down to 1 GM, 1 Restaurant Manager and 2 shifts which is not enough managers to really manage the store making it even more stressful, hired to work 50 hours a week, end up working 55+

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow stores to have more manager so they have mid-shifts covered making it a little easier on opening and closing managers. All of the managers would be happy and that would raise the morale of the store, making everyone else happier and improving production.
