I worked at West Asset Management full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I had a guaranteed 40 hours a week with a pay of $9/hr. I liked the people I worked with, they were like family to me. The job was pretty easy and easy to get use to.

    Cons

The downside of this job would have to be that you had to meet a certain budget for each month you were there. You also had to hit a rolling average of 85% of your budget to not have a pin. There were 4 pins that are possible that you can get. Step 1 is verble warning, Step 2 is written warning, Sep 3 is probabtion, and Step 4 is involuntary termination. Once you hit a Step 3 pin you will have to make atleast 1% higher every month on your budget. I was suppose to get 69% and I achieved 66% of my budget so I recieved a Step 4 pin and got terminated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management was good. Although they could pay more attention individually to people. I understand there are many people and it't hard with a big company like West to get one on one time but it would help them a lot.

I worked at West Asset Management full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You can zone out and put headphones on so as to not be distracted from the constant socializing that goes on from co-workers avoiding their work. If you're a woman, office is almost exclusively made up of women.

    Cons

Low pay, rampant favoritism, little opportunity for advancement (unless you're female). I was lied to by employee relations and management (to an extent) which caused my dismissal.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you intend to let someone go, don't lie and say you'll be reporting back to work Tuesday morning and then terminate the employee on Monday afternoon.
