West Penn Allegheny Health System – “Finally, a rewarding job!”

Pros

Great people to work with and morale is good.
Compensation is fair.
Hours are flexible.
Benefits are on par with other health care systems.
Much improvement since Highmark's potential buyout.

Cons

Fee to park, but it's the same as other hospitals
Company does not currently match retirement contributions
More communication from upper management would help.

Advice to Senior Management

I've worked at both UPMC and WPAHS...the morale is horrible at UPMC and I was made to feel expendable if their quota was not reached. Keep expanding and acquiring new doctors and hopefully the people of Allegheny County will finally realize which health system is better and more economical.
