Pros

The people are friendly. The work is interesting. It can keep you busy. It is a interesting place to work.

Cons

If you are working as a temp, it is not that easy to be switched over to an hourly employee. The supervisors may or may not be completely honest with you.

I worked at Westat full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The company respects individuals and allows them to grow. The projects are interesting and the company tries really hard to keep persons employed once they are hired. The company will try to find work for you in other areas when your contract ends. The company understands that persons have lives and will make allowances when necessary.

    Cons

The promotion policies are somewhat slow. This makes it somewhat difficult to keep younger workers happy and once they have received excellent training from Westat, they often will look for work elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company has begun to act like the big company it is, rather than the small company that it was in the beginning. There could be more consistency across groups in policies and procedures
