    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

-good benefits, including health and life insurance as well as tuition waivers -able to take time off when needed -discounts given in town for being an employee

    Cons

-stagnant intellectual culture -a lot of people are overpaid for doing little work while others are underpaid -unless you've graduated from WKU, you won't get a job here and you won't get promoted unless you are faculty

I have been working at Western Kentucky University (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good people to work with. TONS of free/vacation time. Pretty relaxed and easy-going environment for the most part.

    Cons

No room to move upwards. Easy to become complacent and comfortable. Change comes extremely slowly and the financial instability of the university as a whole has you constantly worrying whether or not your job will be around next fiscal cycle.

    Advice to Management

Make an actual attempt to stay abreast on new ideas and don't be afraid to invest in the organization. Get rid of the "good ole boy" or "buddy buddy" mentality. It is entirely too incestuous when it comes to hiring and keeping people.
