I have been working at Western & Southern Financial full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Free lunch and breakfast (although I could take it or leave it), subsidized parking

Cons

antiquated systems, no work/life balance (very inflexible), mgmt will not listen to opinions of associates (or at least take them seriously)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You seriously need to value your employees more on a day-to-day basis, not just once or twice a year with special events. And due away with the professional dress code, it does nothing but bring morale way down.

I have been working at Western & Southern Financial

    Pros

free lunch if you can stomach it, free parking downtown

    Cons

This company is comprised mostly of Northern Kentucky and West-side Cincinnati small-town simpletons that are ignorant and silly. If you are quiet, bookish, would rather spend your weekend at a library reading a book, then this is the company for you. It's as if everyone here is the maturity level of a child but the body of a 125 year old. It is pretty shocking that this is a Fortune 500 company because of the culture of this place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get some churn in upper management so that there is motivation for other employees. Get some cool young people.

I worked at Western & Southern Financial full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

good training, office benefits, lunch on site, vacation

    Cons

Though not my situation, company not always understanding of family emergencies. "unscheduled" days off due to illness of self or children could be an issue if it happens too frequently.
