An easy job at the expense of professional growth

Software Engineer (Current Employee)
Pittsburgh, PA

I have been working at Westinghouse

ProsFrom a technical standpoint the work is not challenging. It's a very friendly place to work, the interoffice politics are kept to a minimum, and the atmosphere is casual.

ConsBecause of the safety culture in Nuclear work you shouldn't expect to work on anything "cutting edge". True and tried systems will always be the chosen technology of choice.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere's a massive disconnect between upper management and the first line managers and engineers. This comes at the expense of schedule slippage and overruns.
