Pros

ITs growing and lots of opportunity- headquarters is local in Pgh

Cons

all new people, hard to learn

Advice to Management

more mentoring, with such a new group of people it would be very helpful to have mentors assigned to everyone so that teh learning curve is improved

    Pros

Good work environment. Happy work staff made the day to day enjoyable.

    Cons

The day to day work of the job was extremely boring as an intern. When actually given work, I had an intimate relationship with MS Excel. Other people seemed to enjoy their internships more than me, maybe entry level engineering work isn't for me.

    Advice to Management

Helpful and knowledgeable. They were also approachable as an intern

  2. interned, so don't completely trust me.

    Pros

westinghouse is in a very interesting and unique industry. If you want to go nuclear, this is the best place to be for you. The compensation was decent, though the benefits are a little sub-par. Most managers were willing to work with you to make things flexible though from what i heard.

    Cons

they're only in pittsburgh, and it's very hard to move between offices. I'll need to relocate eventually, which sucks because i like working here.

The benefits are ok but not great. You pay a very small portion of health insurance, but retirement is goofy. For example, 401k vests over three years, which means your money isn't growing all that fast.

    Advice to Management

it's a really large company, so that's hard, but more autonomy within the units, and please force the older guys to actually use their computers!
