Cons

Physically demanding, no regular breaks, hard to get lots of hours, raises suck, irregular schedules

Advice to ManagementAdvice

My best experiences here were when the managers acted upbeat and friendly toward sales associates, not just toward customers. It is difficult to be friendly to customers when your manager is not friendly to you. It's best to keep a genuine positive attitude no matter who you are talking to, customer or employee. When you treat the employees differently, you come off as fake. From the Longview store, I saw mostly great examples of a good attitude and friendly atmosphere, but at other stores I've observed, not so much. Just make sure you're not one of those stores where when you walk in to work, you feel stressed out and can't quite figure out why. Attitude is everything!

I have been working at Wet Seal part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

No benefits except associate discounts for part time employees.

    Cons

Management is pretty unorganized, managers sometimes don't show up on time or sometimes not at all, so you're waiting outside for minutes to even hours. Managers have been caught shoplifting and when it was reported to the district manager, they did nothing at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should look into employees backgrounds. One manager was rehired after being fired for "internal issues" and caused a branch to close down and yet they were rehired and is still doing the same thing at this location.
