I have been working at Weyerhaeuser as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Electrical Engineer I worked under was a great guy, and helpful for a co-op student looking at career decisions.

    Cons

Busy work, lots of busy work. I was expected to stay late and come in early to show "How eager I was." for no pay. Most of the time it was mind numbing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let your co-ops do more work, maybe set up a actual program.

I have been working at Weyerhaeuser full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

A very strong, caring culture with the highest safety commitment of any organization. Employees build lasting, long term relationships and chose to stay with the company for a long time. Most employees have at least 15 years of service. Very strong work ethic, dedicated, smart employees who give back to their communities. .

    Cons

The forest products industry is very cyclical so it can be tough to ride the commodity markets....highly dependent on housing.
