Whirlpool – “Good company that needs to refresh its culture and internal communication.”
1 of 1 people found this helpfulPros
Recognizable brands and company in a very livable location. Solid reputation for brand management, product management, and finance career development. Generally pleasant working environment - smart people, caring people, and company that knows the role it plays in the community.
Cons
Paternalistic business that is shaped by its location and its role in said community. Difficult to attract and retain top talent, and the company is loyal to a fault at times. Senior leadership is much better at communicating externally than internally which yields a growing sense of malaise and cynicism toward the actions of the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Spend as much time working on internal communication as external communication. Don't underestimate the power of non-financial rewards and recognition, especially with respect to performance designations.
