I have been working at Whirlpool

Pros

Good Compensation, Lower management usually willing to listen to advise of direct reports
Great deals on appliances and portables
.

Cons

Working remote is good but absolutely no interaction with other employees.
Very little new product training.
Impossible to get time off on short notice even without pay for anything.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit concentrating on cutting costs and start concentrating on building your employees up. They are the best trained and knowledgeable about their fields but you don't listen to them

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show a bit more appreciate to the employees. Not necessarily that of tangible value, but a "thank you" or other recognition every now and then.

I have been working at Whirlpool

    Pros

Good pay for the area, job security (very hard to get fired), work isn't too hard, stable enviroment. Fair Benefits. Always offer promotions to current employees before hiring off the street.

    Cons

You are a robot. Same thing for hours and hours, each and every day. Same people every day. Asskissers are given best jobs, and are promoted quicker. Females also promoted faster.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start promoting based on work ethic, education, and dependability. Not based on bra size, or who's son/daughter someone is. At least act like you care about people, not just washers.
