I have been working at Whirlpool

Pros

It great for retirement. Whirlpool provides a pension a 401k and several insurance package that you can choose from.

Cons

The jobs are ok but your co-workers might not be. It depend on whom you work with. People don't have to be nice. So ignore them and cruise by until retirement.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

To discuss pensions. Alot of my coworkers don't know if they have it or not.

I have been working at Whirlpool

    Pros

    - Location is nice for families, not so much for young professionals
    - Still a manufacturing focused company despite increased brand portfolio

    Cons

The town is small and Michigan is dreary in the winter - if you can deal with that the summers are great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is fine – it’s tough to lump a group of individuals into one definition – recently though a lot of hires from outside the company and other regions have given senior management a much more international feel.

I have been working at Whirlpool

    Pros

Good Compensation, Lower management usually willing to listen to advise of direct reports
Great deals on appliances and portables
    .

    Cons

Working remote is good but absolutely no interaction with other employees.
    Very little new product training.
Impossible to get time off on short notice even without pay for anything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit concentrating on cutting costs and start concentrating on building your employees up. They are the best trained and knowledgeable about their fields but you don't listen to them
