I have been working at Whole Foods Market full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

it is a good enviorment in learning and eating healthy, i have learned many things on eating correctly and what foods to eat.. i thinks it's an awesome grocery store to shop at.

    Cons

it seem like that if your not in a click with management then their is no hope for advancement, their are times that management will walk by and noot even acknowledge your presence

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

their are some stores in the company ith the management currently in them that have failed their employees, the lack of leadership is astounding, the lack of training is very sad. i have been with my current store for over 3 years and have not gotten anywhere, i have tried to advance but the management does not put any emphisis on training, at one time o wanted to make whole foods may career and getting as far as i could but now that i see that its not all peaches ans cream and the company as a whole is so political i now consider it just a job

They speak of values and walk the talk of profits and the fastest way to a buck.

I have been working at Whole Foods Market part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The business supports the work of several non-profits both on a local and global scale.
    20% employee discount
    Casual attire.

    Cons

The health package is a joke and they are reducing it even further this year.
With their expansion plans also comes benefit reduction as they can't afford both, so employee happiness one of their core values takes second seat to profits.
Nepotism and favorites get promoted over people with actual leadership skills and then teams suffer as those ill-fitted and poorly train start managing a team of people. Creating a less desirable work place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk the values don't just spout them off, hold team leaders accountable for their entitled attitudes, just because they run a store means they are a more deserving human than those working for them.
