I worked at Whole Foods Market full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Decent pay and benefits for retail. Environment is very relaxed but there is a lot of room for advancement. I had only positive experiences with fellow team members and team leaders.

Cons

It is still retail after all, customers can be very demanding.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not be too comfortable in position.

Overall great company to work for

I have been working at Whole Foods Market full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Starting salary is higher compared to most other companies. The health benefits and gain-sharing are also a plus. Most of the employees and managers were very friendly and helpful, and the company has a good overall morale. The various locations and positions within the store make is easy to move up in the company or switch departments if desired.

    Cons

A job experience is always dependent on the people you work with. When I first got the job my manager was great, until she left and poorer management came in, which made the job more stressful and less desirable.

I have been working at Whole Foods Market full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

20% discount with the potential for 30%. Fun team members and work environment. Lots of free samples! (note: team members have to sample items if you ask) Great benefits (401k, medical, dental, PTO, life insurance). The chance to support some great causes. If you need a job and really can't get one anywhere else, there is a lot of opportunity at Whole Foods Market They are opening stores left and right and as long as you have a positive attitude, you will get hired.

    Cons

Pay is average to low at best. Some positions can have sporadic scheduled and be prepared to work weekends and holidays. Unfortunately the holidays you enjoy (Thanksgiving) can turn to hell at work. Training isn't always provided and this relates to the organization of management. Every store is different and sometimes you will find that the work load is not divided evenly and some people in leadership are irresponsible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please check on your store level management teams. More structure is needed.
