    Pros

    Flexible hours. Good people. Decent.

    Cons

Hoboken. Glacial management who don't seem to care about making the right choice for brands and team members if it costs money.

There is a huge class system in the culture at Wiley when it comes to staff, temps and contractors/freelancers. If you're not Staff, you're only 'part of the team' when someone you don't generally work with needs you for something. Most other times, you're 100% completely ignored -- that goes for meetings, input, and major goings-on.

Also, please get some IT people who know how a bloody Mac works. It's 2012!!!!!!!!

    Advice to Management

Help middle management create new opportunities to promote growth. After a few years, if you're not in a sector of the business where you can advance and grow, you have no choice but to stick around or leave.

Treat everyone equally. We all work just as hard to make this business thrive, whether freelance or staff. Take some risks and maybe HIRE PEOPLE instead of keeping FT workers with no vacation or sick pay for years & years.

Comfortable place to work, but don't expect to be recognized for hard work

    Pros

Wiley is a place where you don't really have to bring your A game...you can skirt by on being average for a really long time. there is strong recognition of work life balance, as evidenced by how hard it is to get an elevator at quitting time.

    Cons

Low pay, job titles below your peers in similar jobs in other companies, low to no salary increases, and forget about that promotion you think you want.

    Advice to Management

Management talks a good game about change but is slow to act. Try to find key employees in each division who are overachieving and groom them for future growth. And for heavens sake, stop having the reputation in the industry as the "under titling" company.
