Williams-Sonoma Anonymous in San Francisco, CA:   (Past Employee - 2008)

Pros

The most impressive thing about the company is the high caliber of associates who work there. They are intelligent, have a strong work ethic and are dedicated. Most of the department managers are supportive and treat their direct reports with respect.

Cons

A downside to working for the company is the lack of work-life balance - working long hours is the norm and is expected. Also, the executives demonstrate little care for the associates and don't seem to understand why employee morale is so low. This is unfortunate, as this was not always the case. WSI used to be a People First company, now it is only Shareholder's First.

Advice to Senior Management

The people are your greatest asset. Treat them well and the company will succeed and weather this tough economic climate.
