Pros

generous employee discount for sales associates and lovely fellow associates

Cons

There is no chance for advancement, hours are minimal, more interested in pushing the credit card than actual customer service, we are expected to do more with fewer hours and fewer people - again hours have been cut to a few a week, only management gets full time hours with just fill in to help close. What good is the discount when you are only working two hours a week?

Advice to Management

Nurture your staff and treat them as valuable to your bottom line in creating a solid customer base.

    Pros

Opportunity to work for an established brand that is highly regarded.
    Great corporate benefits.
    Great associate discount.
As a retail job, it's a good one.

    Cons

Poor management of associates and fellow managers - the GM has zero people skills and bullies her team on a daily basis. There is a considerable amount of pressure on management from corporate, NO management training anymore, laughable pay for the high expectations that corporate has for the managers, and very little understanding from the DM and RVP. on how to run a store with very little payroll.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what is happening in your stores - associates and managers are being abused and no one is listening. Your store managers are the front lines (if you will), and they take the heat for YOUR indecision regarding promotions and the no-backbone, wishy-washy return policy. No wonder the customers are upset - they are being barraged constantly with the credit card, email requests, inconsistent policies, you name it. It is very difficult to provide the level of customer service that WS customers expect without the support we need from corporate.
