I worked at Wimmer Solutions full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Great work atmosphere, great support by the small internal staff

Cons

Benefits are not the best i've seen, but are on par with other firms in the area.

Keep up the business development to provide more opportunities to your consultants

    I worked at Wimmer Solutions part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    -Good hardware and software compensation.
    -Workload is not too difficult.
    -Great community of fellow MSPs to help with campaigns, projects, etc.
    -Fun position
    -Looks good on resume

    Cons

    -Hardware is taxed on full value at the end of the year, even though it is probably worth less than half value.
    -Campaigns and instructions can be unclear at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Better communication regarding campaigns, tax hardware at fair used value at end of year.

    I worked at Wimmer Solutions

    Pros

    Good opportunity at client site (Microsoft)
    Able to get position even though I didn't qualify for other company (which was odd)

    Cons

    Less than market pay
    Benefits are not great and you have to pay for them
    Lack of communication from senior management
    Management would have prefered to lay us off versus letting us work for competitor when Wimmer lost contract.
    My recruiter was ok, I have worked with a lot more professional ones

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I understand that contracts come and go, but you should not hold employees hostage when we need to make money to put food on the table. I strongly suggest you think of your employees first and not your pocketbook.
    Wasting money on sponsoring a fireworks show is a bit of a slap in the face when pay is less than market average.
