Pros

One of the renowned POS retails giant.

Cons

At 2012, products and development technology like a mid 90s. fighting for sales commission within the organisation and across the departments. Reluctant to change. Full of bad politics, no cooperation, hiring way too many software engineers are foreigner cheap labour mostly can't get the simple english pronunciation right! worst case, lousy computer logics. product developed with tons of errors and bugs.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

throw away your ego, for the sake of the company's future please. if not, this company will soon be another case study of business failure.

    I have been working at Wincor Nixdorf

    Pros

    Independent working environment, low technical challenges, company car, little supervision and guidance, frequent changing corporate policies, company-provided tools, parts, and materials.

    Cons

    Low technical challenges, cheap company car, tools, and parts, unreliable parts, little supervision and guidance, frequently changing corporate policies with poor dissemination and conflicting interpretation, very poor support for personal security in cash-handling job, company cheated employees out of promised bonuses, inadequate internal customer support (wait times in excess of 20 minutes for mandated service checkpoints), technicians held accountable for parts received from repair depot that are unreliably refurbished or mislabeled and all areas are undermanned resulting in 70+hours/week, all weekends.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep your employees safe, supported, and their workloads balanced. Train your managers to take care of their subordinates with the same emphasis as you train them on supporting the client.

    I have been working at Wincor Nixdorf

    Pros

    Company car and Some overtime.

    Cons

    No holiday pay, although holiday work is mandatory.
    No room for advancement
    Job performance is based on a system that is impossable to get a good mark on therefore raises and bonuses dont happen.
    No pay adjustment for anyone who has more resposibility
    More responsibility is forced on employees
    10 day 12 hours a day is your work week
    No care for employees personal life, Wincor does not care if you have a family in fact they seem to try to sabatoge your family.
    Wincor lays off its employees to increase profit margins
    Employees who are left are harshly scrutenized for not making up the workload for laid off employees
    Accountability only exists for the field techs, nobody else in the company has the need to support the workload.
    Upper management makes mandatory conf calls to congraduate themselves for working hard and making great profits. and the next call is about how techs arent getting raises this year.
    Field techs get no praise and are given no real reason to do more than an "ok" job.

    etc, etc, etc,,,,,......

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to your techs in the Field, they are the ones you rely on to "do the work" stop making their lives harder or you wont have any left.

    Also your lies to the field demotivate everyone. Why should a tech do better when it wont change his life at all, in fact his hard work will be accounted for by someone else!
