I worked at Windstream

Pros

the pay is decent and so is the time off. Some cool people to meet as well.

Cons

no communication from upper managment. No support system in place, I mean it's there in theory (as in people are employed for these reasons) however if you actually need assistance with something expect a very lengthy wait or figure it out on your own. Nothing matters but numbers, nothing. As a company they encourage some rather shady actions both in the way they operate their billing and the way they "train" there sales reps. overall would not recommend this job to anyone..money is decent but it does not make up for the lack of everything else. Also needs to be noted the systems in place to place/edit/change orders (or do anything else for that matter) is old, outdated, impractical and desperately needs to be updated

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate your people to much turnover is hurting you. Oh and update you out of date systems...

I have been working at Windstream

    Pros

Its a job that offers benefits, 401k, dental, medical and a stepping stone for an office environment without a college degree.

    Cons

no growth "real" growth opportunities, benefits are horrible and only catered to the AR employees. Management is very unprofessional and will not support any career goals that you have for the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help set out a carreer path with the employees. If they feel that their are options to growth within the company and the manage supports them, they are more likely to be successful within the company. Overall, better for the company.

    I worked at Windstream

    Pros

Great training ground for old school knowledge about the telecommunication industry. Very Good place to work so you can have the ability to balance life and work.

    Cons

A real lack of upward mobility and the good old boy system is alive and well. The company's internal method of operations is outdated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create real opportunities for all employees not just a select few.
