I worked at Wipro full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Nice and Helpful Seniors...Will Help you in learning.Brand Name.If u have any onsite opportunity, stick to the firm for some time.Diversified, but hardly any importance given to freshers to choose technology or domain.

Cons

Terrible Management. No Value of Freshers.Ridiculous HRs. Long Work Hours.Quality Of Work for some is very bad.Want Laborers for cheap and certainly not engineers.Never keeps to it promises.Values are only on paper and not in reality.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the attitude of defending your poor management to improving the terrible policies. If this approach continues,be prepared to never able to get talented new comers and talented people to stay in wipro.Worst Experience I Could have had in any organisation.

I worked at Wipro full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A great service company, with lots of clients.
Can get to work on various domains-retail, banking, storage, insurance etc.
Chance to work at client location is great.

    Cons

Not at all a place for people to think of great perks in salary.
Your work contribution to get recognized is really difficult, as your one among thousands of employees.
Not all projects are challenging enough.
Reporting chain at wipro is quite lengthy. Too many managers .

I have been working at Wipro full-time

    Pros

Nice colleagues(team mates exclusive of manager)
If you are lucky you can get to do something interesting as there are projects in various different fields
Lot of training programs are available

    Cons

Very difficult to move to your preferred technology, even if you are ready to work in addition to the assigned tasks. No say at all even after your first project to move into a different technology within the same account. But if you are lucky anything can happen.
Manager plays a very important role and is often very bad at understanding his reportees and manages very badly.
Work timings are bad. Worst in the sector in fact.
Freshers are badly treated when they are assigned to their first project by their immediate manager. They are asked to do his personal work at times too.
Onsite opportunities are less as mainly offshore centric models are being followed.
Salary is very less(Top level management and other higher bands are compensated well)and appraisal ratings can be changed to the last bin by HR even if your manager give you the first bin or second bin.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand your employees. Keep them happy.
If you're proposing for 24x7 projects make sure you recruit enough people to run the show. Staffing can be improved a lot.
Compensate the employees well and make a channel for changing technology for the employees.
