Pros

After thinking so much, I could not find one real reason to motivate others to join Wipro. Yeah! Yeah! It is a giant Indian company with good reputation in India.

Cons

May be this space is less to list all the downsides. However I am listing FEW of MANY:
No personal life, no appraisals, Extremely bad management from an employees perspective, Managers exploits their employees to their full capacity, the employee quality is highly deteriorated, offshore calling up even at midnight at onsite, 24X7 availabilty is required by an employee in LITERAL SENSE, etc, etc, etc, etc......

Advice to Management

Company grows when employee grows...
Have some attention towards employee staisfaction & give him some personal space in life.

    Pros

There are a wide variety of career opportunities, and the market for outsourcing continues to grow. The company has a wide range of technology practice areas, and is highly competitive with the range of clients that it serves. The consulting practice area is a flat organization with significant opportunities for face time with senior executives, and enough "whitespace" to explore opportunities that do not necessarily coincide with current business areas. The bottom line is, there are a lot of opportunities, but you must be an experienced self starter to take advantage of many of them.

    Cons

Management's overall direction is sometimes unclear, and the company as a whole struggles in some areas to accommodate its significant growth. The quality of employees from technology areas (knowledge, presentation skills, client skills) varies widely across the company. As a result it is difficult to know how well any particular project will go until after work has begun.

The company also has a significant focus on keeping costs as low as possible which makes some policies feel "cheap" compared to other organizations.

    Advice to Management

The company will be facing ever-increasing competition from IBM and Accenture in the coming years, and the overall strategy for success in an increasingly competitive outsourcing market will require changes to the customer interaction model to create lasting and valuable relationships with clients. The current commodity outsourcing approach will only be valid until a cheaper competitor comes along...

    Pros

Multifaceted, Broad geographical presence, Chance to grow with a growing organisation, Good pay packages at onsite (as opposed to competition), can manage a career switch if you are determined, dependable senior management, excellent scale up in the last few years and potential to grow even more, excellent training oopurtunities in fact Wipro's trainings are recognised as the amogst the best in breed.

    Cons

Can feel lost in the crowd, excellent processes in place but lack of enforcement of the same, the idea of growth for everybody is just management which leaves too few people to work, lot of people with a laid back attitude are able to survive, HR is over stretched.

    Advice to Management

Apart from quantitaive growth, have focus on the qualitative growth as well. Have some better defined ways and means of profit sharing.
