Wittenberg is a very good institution to work for, cares for its students, but should pay adjuncts more

    Pros

Wittenberg promotes an atmosphere of collegiality and everyone is helpful. There is a focus on teaching students and promoting undergraduate research. Recent changes in administration are looking positive to improving Wittenberg's standings and attractiveness

    Cons

Like similar colleges, Wittenberg has to struggle to bring in sufficient funds and paying students to meet program needs and therefor doesn't provide the pay or raises that would appropriate. There is a quest for the programs and niche that will attract more and better students. While most of the faculty are full time, terminal degree and adjuncts used when necessary, adjuncts are underpaid

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Over the last 20 years, has slowly indicated a lessening in the value that administration places on the individual faculty and on attracting and retaining excellent faculty.

Nice, supportive colleagues. There is room for growth and advancement.

    Cons

Sometimes it was hard to know what was going on in other departments on campus. The turnover on campus was sometimes challenging.
