Overall, it has been a positive experience but the slow-pace of the industry and company makes me restless.

Pros

Work-life balance - time outside work for your own hobbies, family, activities. Great people to work with - attracts people who are not as ambitious or who take part in politicking, who are friendly, and who respect each other. Very open to job rotation for exposure and learning especially for longer-term employees.

Cons

Remuneration (increments and bonuses) is not competitive. Can stifle those who are ambitious and who want to grow very quickly. Rather slow-paced industry combined with a company who wants to change and innovate but is rather sluggish in doing so. Can get used to slower pace and feel complacent to jump back in the rat race if the opportunity presents itself from another company.

Advice to Management

Departments need to have better and more honest communication and teamwork - currently very diplomatic but loses cutting edge execution. Requires far stronger mentorship and leadership development structure and processes. Although innovation is a key focus, change and ideas are still very slow in being explored and implemented - needs greater investment of resources and management support to succeed.

    Pros

    good vacation - that's all!!

    Cons

Where do I start?? Clueless management. Poor or no communication from immediate supervisor. Doing two separate jobs - getting paid less than industry standards - management doesn't care. Don't work here

    Advice to Management

How much money do shareholders and executives really need? You have outsourced everything possible, laid off good experienced workers that know the business more than you do. Wake up! The bottom feeders are stressed, on medication just to come to work every day. You're the cause of increased medical insurance for all of us. And, for a self-insured company, your insurance plans are pretty poor.
