Pros

Some of the benefits like lots of vacation time is very nice. Your current manager will be the key to your enjoyment working there.

Cons

You're just a little guy there no advancement. The business moves regardless of what the pieces say

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You can't keep giving your people a 3% raise and expect them to perform at a decent level or to continue to want to work there.

I have been working at Wolters Kluwer

    Pros

    Good benefits package.
Work-life balance can be good or bad, depends on P&L you are part of.

    Cons

Numbers driven ... almost to death - not everything can be crystallized to numbers.
GE-like culture - sounds good, but not something to be proud of.
Employee development is nil. There is no employee training program
Senior management levels have lower competency.
Few people know about this coy. Fewer can pronounce its name.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to earn profits, but invest in employee development
Change the company name, no offense to W or K

I have been working at Wolters Kluwer

    Pros

Opportunity to take ownership of customer facing products or specific product features is rewarding

    Cons

Company is understaffed, employees are overworked, turn over is high, there are no perks, recognition for effort is non existent and there are near 0 advancement opportunities. Company has been consistently cutting full time staff for past couple years so morale is in the tank. Limited to no opportunities for product innovation. Management act like dictators, keep your mouth shut or get stomped.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show that you care about your people even a little bit, at least make an effort to build a community among the thousands of Wolters Kluwer employees to bring morale out of the crapper. WK employees never talk to each other.
