Former Employee - Shelter Advocate in Castle Rock, CO

Pros

To help the clients they serve. Programs for women and children are strong and therapy is free to all who stay in the shelter. The hot line helps many callers too. The shelter advocate may assist them in deciding whether to leave an abusive relationship or help them to identify abusive behaviors in their significant others.

Cons

Mangement is fickle and may not tell you want they really think. If you are not completely conformist here, this management may bite you very hard or fire you. If you have creative ideas for changes you may be fired too. If you are trying to make any changes it is rarely accepted. If you cannot make all meetings it will show up in your reivew or in reprimands from management.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more sympathetic and supportive.
