I worked at Wood Consulting full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Healthy Salary, Insurance Benefits, Annual/Sick Leave as a Federal Government contractor. It appears like a permanent position. Reimburses education.

Cons

No interactions with contractors and clients together. Terrible 1950's read-the-binder training. Too far away from Washington DC. Left empty handed.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wood Consulting is loosing good reliable contractors.

I have been working at Wood Consulting full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Once you've been there for a few months, there are many opportunities to take on new responsibilities. Great benefits package. Really nice people.

    Cons

I had little to no work to do each day during my 3 month training period and the following few months. There is a lot of turn-over of employees, which means having to take on other people's projects when they leave. Infrequent opportunities for raises or promotions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Concentrate on keeping the employees you have rather than replacing them.

I have been working at Wood Consulting

    Pros

Love the work that I do
    Love all of my co-workers
Good benefits and salary if they actually give it to you

    Cons

Make sure you get everything that they promise in writing or else you're not getting it at all. When I interviewed, I was told that I'd be temporary for 90 days, then there would be a review and they'd keep me on as full time or get rid of me. With full time status came benefits and a higher salary. When it came time for the 90 day review there was suddenly a "misunderstanding" and they had no intention of making any of the temporary employees full time. This was news to all of us.

    GET IT IN WRITING

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make good on your verbal promises and you won't have so much turn over
