I worked at Workday

Pros

Exceptional technology, helpful well intentioned but completely disempowered middle management.

Cons

-Senior Executive leadership dictatorial approach is formula for failure.
-While claimed domain expertise is HR, HR systems are lacking, sub-par integration with benefit providers (I still get mail and email from benefit providers as if i work there!) and well below market benefits and compensation packages.
-HR and legal team way over their heads
-Middle management completely powerless and has no control over their domain.
-Culture is not as described. It is long workdays for low pay and no loyalty in return

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Good luck on your way to the scrap heap history with all the other companies with good technology, an outstanding founder who "let it get away" by entrusting the company to the wrong people. My advice is to make Sr. Leadership change NOW or all your great ideas will be for naught. Stretching the truth about customers and customer stories, about technology capabilities, about internal expertise only works for a while. Tell the truth! Practice what you preach regarding HR practices!

I have been working at Workday

    Pros

This company is going to make a lot of people very comfortable, the technology and innovation is literally bleeding edge, nice work-life balance

    Cons

Limited equity-small pre IPO offers, very poor benefits, sub standard wages

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay raises are absolutely an imperative or you will begin to lose folks, also more shares would make a difference particularly for those who have been here for some time

    I worked at Workday

    Pros

Communication is free and open between different teams, which is comparable to the rest of the software industry. It's a very tight knit company despite its growing size. Has free bagels and coffee every morning. flexible work time.

    Cons

    Pay is relatively average.
It's hard to advance within the company.
Company location is not in the city.
Innovation is treated with care, but it's necessary because it's offered as a service

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the great job, you have developed a sustainable company culture, as you establish workday as a reputable company, i think it's necessary to recruit more young people
