Current Employee - Night Leader in London, England (UK)

I have been working at World Duty Free Group full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

good benefits and working patterns. Higher wages than high street retail. Lots of opportunity for development if you try. Good facility's for staff.

Cons

very top heavy management structure leads to micro management and over involvement of management in minor issues. Over complicated procedures and outdated systems.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more to skilled staff to attract better people in to roles. streamline middle management to save money. invest in systems to bring the company up to date with competitors.

I have been working at World Duty Free Group full-time

    Pros

I love my colleagues we do tend to stick together and support each other through the hell we go through only reason for a star!

    Cons

Managers- no communication, no respect, don't care about staff just sales and push lines, favouritism, gossiping, patronising, make promises to keep staff etc etc and staff just act childish in return. We tell new starters not to work there!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They often are turning to staff to handle situation because they don't know the basics! Treat staff with respect you'll get respect back! Lead by example don't tell staff to do things if you can't do it yourself!! Try doing undercover boss you will see how upset staff are!

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
