I have been working at Wrigley as a contractor (more than an year)

Pros

As a contract employee, I am made to feel very welcome. It pays better than other contract positions I have held.

Cons

As a contractor waiting for a full time position I have learned that you can wait anywhere from 9months to 3 years. But that if one position is no longer available they will work with you to find another in the company.

I have been working at Wrigley full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

great benefits, flexible environment, lots of opportunities for career development & training, not a hyper-competitive environment

    Cons

The entire company (Wrigley especially but Mars as a whole) is totally lost when it comes to growth. Emphasis is on taking costs out of products rather than adding value, so great ideas get squashed or stripped of whatever makes them interesting. The focus on developing talent means that people are sometimes put in positions that aren't appropriate for their skills or mindsets because they need to be promoted or want to learn about a new area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest real money in creating genuinely new things, not just new variations of existing products. Look for smaller opportunities that can drive long-term growth, not just quick wins.

I have been working at Wrigley full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Many positions and room for growth within Chicago. Culture is very focused on Associate Development.

    Cons

Wrigley campus is not close to downtown, and inconvenient for suburban commuters. Declining Gum business has been driving lean staffing and numerous restructures over the past 18 months.
