I worked at Wyndham Vacation full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Can make a lot of money. Great Benefits, Medical, Dental, Life, Vision. Travel benefits also. It can be a fun environment as most people try to be upbeat.

Cons

The way to making real $ is if you are okay lying to people, otherwise you can make an average living 40K or so. The biggest issue is that upper management acts like they have blinders on, making employees sign statements that they will not say certain things, while direct managers teach the sales techniques that encourage embellishments! Really?

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Teach some bonafide ways to sell without all the embellishment. Firing people that are doing exactly what they are taught to do, does not seem like a sensible approach. How about making sure that there is no need to go down that path to begin with!

    Pros

Great product-owner upgrades. professional environment. Good management. Independence to own your job.

    Cons

Have to be passionate about selling vacation upgrades, if you are not-you will not do well. owners you contact in some cases are still digging out from financial collapse and are not ready to upgrade. You are selling a leisure product. Must enjoy your job and have fun or you will struggle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide a small base plus commission.

I worked at Wyndham Vacation full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Sales people and marketers were fun and friendly!

    Cons

Management and directors had no appreciation of talent or work ethics. They didn't even have the word ethics in their vocabulary. Lying was encouraged. At best the management, particularly on the marketing side might have had a high school diploma. It was an extremely disappointing experience, as with the proper management I know Wyndham would be a world class company! It must just be Williamsburg VA... I'm not sticking around long enough to find out!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn management skills! Perhaps an education would be helpful instead of flying by the seat of your pants! Motivate employees instead of cheating them out of money and constantly lying!
