I worked at Wynn Resorts

Pros

Great company reputation, which carries a lot of weight throughout the industry. Many perk follow when employed with Wynn not affiliated with the company based on the notable reputation that has been established.

Cons

Very little advancement within the company. Minimal wages for jobs performed based on industry standards. The current position the company is taking based on recruiting is hiring from outside as opposed to hiring within.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would advise management to put more emphasis in talent development so that internal promotion opportunities would increase. Additionally, re-evaluate the compensation plan by conducting a market assessment of companies within the industry.

    Pros

You have steady work and a good paycheck.

    Cons

Unwilling to allow for time off when you want it. Unwritten policy - take time off when the hotel wants you to go. Management refuses to approve/deny leave requests until day leave to begin. Multiple call backs required to get even a denial of the leave request. Employer recognition amounts to an occasional candy bar or other significant items. Employer states not enough workers to get job done but new hires are rarely seen. Las Vegas has a double digit unemployment rate so people should be looking for work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember your people.......take care of your people and they will take care of you!

Every technical issue is treated as a forest fire. It's almost always "all hands on deck".

I have been working at Wynn Resorts

    Pros

Gorgeous property which might sometimes make you feel proud about working there.

    Cons

You'll hardly get noticed for a job well done if you are in the technology field. Most employees are not treated as humans and management's regard for your health and well-being is almost non-existent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You really should pay attention to what your employees are saying about you. Many of your top employees have left. Those who are still there no longer perform at the level that they once did. You've received feedback from many recruiting firms in Las Vegas that prospective employees in the technology market do NOT want to work for Wynn Resorts because of the poor reputation that you've built for yourself. Wake up.
