I have been working at XIFIN full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Casual dress, free soda fountain, bagels on Fridays. Great friendly people. Positive outlook for future growth. Accrue third week vacation beginning day one of fourth year. Normal holidays plus two floating for a total of 7. Company does not operate on the PTO model.

Cons

Hiring has not kept up with growth. Some outside hires into upper Mgmt caused more harm than help. Those capable rarely promoted, but good enough to train those from outside hired above them. Does not make sense. Some Depts are the "golden child" and all decisions made to help them, whether or not to the detriment of others.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to your employees. Listen to them. Understand the everyday obstacles to success. Get rid of upper mgmt from the outside if they haven't learned the system or made positive change in the first year.

    Pros

Healthcare benefits are good. Stock options, if available, can be generous, depending on when they vest.

    Cons

XIFIN has a longstanding reputation for treating employees poorly. The implementations group and technical implementations group are in complete chaos at the time of this writing. Nearly every implementation coordinator and technical implementation specialist has less than a year of experience. Turnover is quite high and morale is quite low. Extensive overtime is expected, but not rewarded, nor even acknowledged. Staff are regularly criticized at the drop of a hat by management and coworkers alike - both privately and in front of customers. However, alliances can be made if loyalty is proven to a select few of the most tenured staff. choose carefully.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage staff to take risks. Allow staff to learn from mistakes. Praise in public and punish in private. Always give staff the benefit of the doubt. Manager should stop throwing subordinates under the bus in front of customers, just so that you can appear correct.

I have been working at XIFIN full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They offer higher salaries to compensate for their shortcomings.
Bagels on Friday. Free soda fountain.
Casual dress code. Nice floor plan and collaborative cube spaces.

    Cons

Senior management is inflexible and micromanages.
I've been there 2 years and haven't had a review and haven't evaluated my manager.
No access to systems and software needed to do my job.
Cutting corners to push out product or save money is the preferred strategy.
Growth rate outpaces XIFIN's ability to deliver solutions.
    Severely understaffed.
Morale is low and there is no effort to improve it.
No 401{k} match. No tuition reimbursement.
6 paid holidays. 1/2 day on day after Thanksgiving OR 1/2 day New Year's eve.
Still has vacation (2 weeks AFTER 1 year), sick and holiday instead of single PTO bank.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Retire.
    Get out of the 1990s.
    Sell the company.
