    I worked at XSport Fitness

    Pros

Free membership for employee and spose for full time
Free membership fo employee for part time
Free spin, aerobic and yoga classes

    Cons

The club is open 365/24/7 and if you are on call, you will get calls at all hours
If you want to go out of town for the weekend, you need management approval and someone to cover your position in case you are called in.
Senior management does a lot of yelling at mid level management
Grading system is convoluted, if you hit your mark at 100% you get a "C", because thats your job, to get a "B" or "A" you need 100% and 120% respectively.
Gym has monthly inspections, if something is broken or out of order you loose points even if parts are back ordered or supplier will not ship due to unpaid invoices from outstanding orders.
    High pressure sales
No annual raise unless you have great performance, I agree with the idea, but it is subjective to interpretation, you do things the same all year, but the last 2-3 months before your review, what you have been doing that was good before is not enought.
Upper management is comprised of a lot of family members, some are capable others are family

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Its great to have high expectations, but there should also be a sense of reality. Goals should be S.M.A..R.T. - Specific (sometimes okay, but need to improve), Measurable (done well in most areas), Attainable(this you may need a dictionary for), Realistic (while you still have that dictionary out) and Timely. Something got lost somewhere from when the first gym was opened to where you are now. The $$$ became a priority over promoting fitness.

I have been working at XSport Fitness

    Pros

The best part of the job is that you will learn how to sell or you won't survive. Its a trial by fire, until you figure it out.

    Cons

Favoritism by sales staff on handing out clients to less high performing trainers because it is easier to give them to them or they are friends.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management need to get the club to work together as one unit rather than a bunch of segmented parts that are not communicating.
