Pros

Beautiful places, and relatively easy work. Guests and staff are all generally happy to be there. Considering the free room and board (for management), the pay really isn't bad, either. Management tends to understand that you're there essentially to be in a beautiful place.

Cons

There are certain strange rackets, such as (if working in a national park) park rangers selectively issuing citations to employees they dislike. Very annoying. Also, the middle management is generally fairly incompetent.

Advice to Management

Well, it's tough to find talented people who want to stick around for seasonal work. Much of middle management is just utterly daft, but they're the ones who keep coming back. Some just love the places and like the job, but most return season after season because they have trouble coping with the "real world."

    Pros

Good people to work around Good benefits Work environment is beautiful throughout the entire park Fun people to work with

    Cons

Bad work hours Bad pay for the overall amount of work you do on a daily basis dad in and day out

    Advice to Management

Management needs to reconsider why people doing the least get paid the most while the actual workers get nothing. All a name game and who you know

    Pros

Some employees are tremendous, but are overshadowed by the mediocrity

    Cons

Constant ridicule, yelling, swearing by upper management. You never know where you stand, they do not support you and change their minds constantly.

    Advice to Management

Change the culture and get the resort into the present century. Striving to be mediocre just to keep your workload easy is a poor reason to be in management. Stop letting those who are not in management to have complete control over the operation. Instead of cursing and yelling, try motivating your employees, perhaps even empower them to do their job without you meddling in everything, every moment of every day. There is a reason residents and members shun the resort venues, it is time for a change, but with current management that is not likely to ever happen. Continue doing what you do and keep being the less than average resort in the area.
