    I worked at Xceed Financial Credit Union full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    They moved to a new, modern building. The building was built/finished in 2008 and the employees of XFCU moved in that same year. It was nice, clean, modern, environmentally friendly. Health/dental benefits were good

    Cons

    Pay wasn't as competitive; management didn't spend a lot of time with the lower-level employees; I didn't feel that top management and the rest of the employees were on the same team. There was a separation which was evident; for three years in a row, we had no raises or bonuses, not even cost of living increase;

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be part of the team, don't be afraid to work with employees and learn from them; accept feedback and give constructive criticism. Reward employees who work hard and respect others work/life balance as well as yours.

    Extremely understaffed and disorganized.

    I worked at Xceed Financial Credit Union

    Pros

    Decent benefits. Easy to take PTO when needed. Every associate is given one "Family Day" per year, where you get the day off and can be reimbursed up to $100 for expenses. On-site drycleaning service. Wear jeans on Fridays with $5 weekly donation to Children's Miracle Network. Employee Wellness Program pays up to $300 annually for meeting health goals. Some employees qualify for annual bonus if department goals are met. Employee appreciation day with food and prizes. Tuition reimbursement and training opportunities. Special employee rates on loans, computers, etc. A lot of hardworking, friendly people work there.

    Cons

    Extremely reduced headcount forces you to take on many roles that are often well beyond your experience and skillset. The lack of headcount and resources has a tremendous negative impact on member service, as well as support to the branches and sales team. Terrible communication between departments and branches. Some associates may take days or even weeks to respond to emails and phone calls, if at all. Employees are treated merely as a commodity by the executive management team, who seem more concerned with receiving awards and getting their names in trade publications than providing quality service to members and establishing a functional working process internally. Membership has steadily declined at an alarming rate in recent years. The HR team is incompetent and failed me at every level (screwed up important documentation for retirement plan, payroll, leave time, and were extremely unresponsive).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take a hard look at the disorganization and lack of communication between departments. In some cases, tasks are being left in limbo because departments are refusing to claim them, or do not know where responsibilities actually reside because there is no documentation or guidelines. I think that it would be better to scale back the aspirations and focus simply on providing great service to the existing member base in order to rebuild trust in the organization. Growth will happen once it's earned and necessary. All departments are extremely understaffed. You simply cannot be effective without the necessary components and skillsets necessary to fill specific roles. There's such a thing as wearing a lot of hats, but it's become absurd and extremely inefficient having associates stretched so thinly beyond their means.
