I have been working at Xerox

Pros

good benefits package. true diversity throughout the company. partner benefits avail.
the possibility of relocating to other states/regions.

Cons

mgmt does not care about the front-line associates. (in Managed Services or Tech Services)
customer service takes the backseat to cost cutting.
the red-tape of working for a large company is truly exhausting.
its easier to ignore a problem than to go through what it takes to fix a problem.
Xerox seems like a high-tech, forward thinking company, when in reality the systems and software they use to run the company are hilariously out-dated and redundant.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

your middle managers and those below them are all yes men.
your front-line employees are in direct contact with your customers and get no support from their direct management teams. Managers is too busy cascading emails all day or just don't care to actually do something constructive towards a solution.
what ever happened to preventing a problem we can all see very clearly will happen?
"no, no, we'll take care of that later." (yeah, its not their work environment, so they don't care)

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

Flexible hours, virtual offices, good pay ranges.

    Cons

Employees are always fearful of being laid-off. Employees are kept in the dark about future direction. Sales folks have compensation plans that encourage customer dissatisfaction. No cost of living adjustments in the last 7 years. Layoffs are a constant fear. Anne seems to think the only way to make a profit is to reduce expenses, but cutting the support staff only causes customer pain, leading to lower sales. Xerox is in a dying industry, and Anne has no clue to where Xerox should go in the future after printing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop laying off the technical support people, as our customer service is going down the tubes. Find a better Hotline manager. Survey all customers after every hotline and service call.
