It WAS a decent place to work as a Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer (Former Employee)
El Segundo, CA

I worked at Xerox full-time for more than 10 years

ProsFlexible hours depending on the job you were on, and the people you worked with were usually great. Good benefits, but they are cutting back as the economy slows down.

ConsPromotion, as with many companies, was dependent on how well you got along with people. Politics is a main stay of a large company. If you were selected as a fast tracker, your success was almost guaranteed, but if not then it is easy to just get lost in the shuffle.
Software Engineering jobs are becoming scarcer in the company as it becomes more and more of a service company. At least to what it used to be.
