I worked at Xerox full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Xerox is a place that continually offers education and training. Based on the multitude of systems used, it requires networking skills which allows you to increase your "internal customer service".

    Cons

With the downsizing, people have so much on their plates that response time is not a priority. The constant changing of direction becomes a way of life. Roles change and are tweeked annually. There is a lack of understanding of "job requirements" from upper management to the field jobs.

I have been working at Xerox full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - Multiple opportunities for diverse business experience.
     - Once part of the Xerox team, one can move around - both geographically as well as functionally.

    Cons

    - Pay is rarely tied to performance or market value.
     - Getting honest constructive feedback is like pulling teeth.
     - People development is lost in the shuffle of day-to-day activities (low priority).
     - Benefits are disappearing rapidly as Xerox seems to be the trend setter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop your people and pay accordingly or you will lose them when you need them most. Top performers aren't going to stick around forever. The grace period is running very thin for most of us.
