I have been working at Xerox full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Competitive starting salary
Good for entry level employees

Cons

"Xerox isn't in the business of giving raises, because corporate America isn't in the business of giving raises." ~Randall Burrows
Job security is non existent due to outsourcing to India
Promotions don't seem based on merit,
People with good ideas end up leaving the company...good ideas aren't rewarded/incentivised
Impossible to level up in the company

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote developers and people who work close with the technology to make decisions. Reduce middle management.

Layoff / Furlough City - Don't plan on a long term career

I have been working at Xerox full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Can build your resume. Lots of good smart people.

    Cons

Bent on hiring overseas in Mexico, India, Singapore, and anywhere cheap. Company doesn't care about anyone. Layoffs are real and happen often despite your qualifications, tenure, or how hard you work. No bonus, no special anything for holidays like Christmas, not even an email.
Company is selling services for which is has little or no trained talent to fulfill. If clients knew the real story they would run the other way.
Wirl wind of changes constantly. Constant threat of layoffs, furloughs make life uneasy. They layoff on one hand and hire on the other. People are just bodies to sell to clients and disposable especially those that earn a decent salary from acquired companies. Don't plan on staying for a long career, it's unlikely to happen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about people instead of profits only and the profits will come. Stop trying to be so cheap as a method of cutting costs. It's hurting.

I worked at Xerox full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people and teamwork, pretty good teamwork, flexible work schedule

    Cons

Senior Management in Rochester is totally out of touch with the field and has no empathy for the feet on the street employment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you are not going to listen to employees stop surveying, doing roundtables and acting like you care about our 'careers'.
