Current Employee - Technology Solutions Manager in Salt Lake City, UT
Current Employee - Technology Solutions Manager in Salt Lake City, UT

I have been working at Xi3 full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Great downtown location
Wonderful people to work with
Good product
Professional and fun regional managers
Startup company with flexibility

Cons

Every sales rep is a temporary employee for a year (regardless what they tell you). As a temp:
No benefits
No parking
No security
No PTO
No vacation pay
No access to the building
No commission (until proven worthy)

In the hiring process they tell you great things and expect a lot. To receive the benefits and get hired on as an employee, you have to prove your loyalty and trust and hope you can stick around long enough to see it happen.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Expect employees to deliver on performance, and you deliver on your side with basic employment needs.

    I worked at Xi3

    Pros

Creative management style -- combines a lot of room for independent action and personal growth with loyalty and accountability. Hard work is noticed and rewarded. Coworkers are great and work environment is very laid back with great perks. Products are innovative and exciting. Client base is genuinely motivated to buy.

    Cons

Strategic changes in business directions can sometimes catch employees off guard. Being in the tech industry means a lot of fast paced changes and sometimes we are caught in the lurch between conflicting goals. Some managers fail to get the message and miscommunicate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure to communicate decisions clearly down to the front lines and keep the message simple and straightforward. Sometimes it can be confusing with multiple versions of the message and the strategy.
