I have been working at Xilinx

Pros

Most people are talented or well-experienced at least.
Great product roadmap ahead in the niche market.
Decent salary, ESPP and performance-linked bounce.

Cons

Too many political competition among top to mid-level management.
It's not a place where the management level does really trust and respect the team members.
Excessive working hours for certain teams.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do trust and respect every employee!

    I worked at Xilinx

    Pros

technical challenges, great technology, friendly people, innovation leader, autonomy in work matters. Overall, not a bad place at all, would recommend

    Cons

Very driven, the work and life balance was hard to maintain. The organization is structured such that new ideas are sometimes hard to implement because they don't fit within the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

quit ranking people within groups head to head always, it fosters no cooperation and makes it hard to work as a team.

    I worked at Xilinx

    Pros

There were many opportunities to work with other departments and gain experience in other job functions. Their is a teamwork environment there

    Cons

New management came in to a company that was doing good in the down economy and to boost profits did a layoff. The layoff didn't seem to reflect how much valuable the person was to the company but more about lets reduce headcount

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you find the need to let people go you should do more research to see what groups add value to the company
