I worked at Xilinx full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Good salary benefits, medical and insurance benefits.

Cons

No work life balance at all. work is hectic and repetative and boring. after some period of time, its very discouraging and diminishes your confidence!

Advice to Management

please dont have any fresher posted to product engineering, it will destroy his enthusiasm and interest in engineering.

    Pros

    Very aggressive company goals that IF met, will place Xilinx as proven leader in FPGA industry. Non-management employees are willing to help whenever possible, and most work well together. Very few pre-madonnas.

    Cons

    Management is more concerned about schedule than quality. During reviews, any work outside of product support, ie. R&D, is overlooked. This leads to frustration of employees who work best in those type of areas.

    Advice to Management

    Stop sending jobs overseas if you want parts that work. Identify employees areas of strength, and how they can best benefit the company and give them tasks in those areas. This is the only way the company will meet its long-term goals.
