I worked at Xilinx as an intern

Pros

The company has a helpful culture where everyone is more or less open with one another.

Cons

Insufficient to tell from internship.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great to have the feeling that upper management team are part of the company, accessible to employee and even to interns.

    I worked at Xilinx

    Pros

The people are great for the most part. You have the ability to be surrounded by brilliant people who are also willing to help each other out. However...

    Cons

    - Upper level management complete focus on every nickel and dime and disregard for employee satisfacation
    - Lack of company culture. Rare group/company events and encourage socializing. There used to be events offsite as a company, but now they are only willing to set up tents in the HQ parking lot.
    - Old boys club

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus on the employees

I have been working at Xilinx full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

good salary, good benefits, some employee fun events driven primarily by HR

    Cons

Upper management is solely focused on every nickle and dime. Software quality is awful, and the rank and file is not allowed to say that. Anyone that speaks up or tries to fix the problems is removed and replaced with someone younger and more inexperienced. Good people are leaving due to burnout because of workload, and the remaining people are expected to pick up the slack.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a serious look at the quality of the product (from the outside). Replace the CEO and at least half of upper management. Restore work/home life balance. Stop overloading the workers.
